Description
ELA Soundness Policy: As Is
JD is the gentle, stocky, more whoa than go guy that every wants for their kids, or as a guest horse.  Flashy black leopard coloring, 14:3hh, vet aged at 21.
He has been my sons “big horse” confidence builder the last couple years.   He’s content to stand and chill while the kids groom him and climb all over him.
Everyone in our family has ridden him, & he’s always been safe, we have had beginner neighbor & friends on him as well.
Put him behind another horse on the trail,  he will just mosey along happy as can be. I’ve ridden him as lead during hunting, and he did, but you have to constantly ask for him to move out.
He’s been ridden all over our local trails, in the wilderness, and on the ranch.
Ride him next to the quad, carry a baby goat, use him for a diving board in the creek, ride him down the road,  listen to our neighbors shoot for hours on end, go over and through trail obstacles.   He’s done all of it. Plus does the basics, lead tie, load, p/u feet.  Rides in hack or sidepull.
Does well with others, can be pastured alone. Low pecking order,  easy keeper. Respectful of Hot tape.
JD is As Is because he has a blind eye.  He was like that when we bought him, and per old owner has been that way for many years.
Because of his “appy eyes” he does best with a fly mask during summer months to shade them.
