Now here is one awesome Appaloosa gelding that we are excited to offer you. Lapwai Larry is cheerful in all weathers. He’s never shirked a task. And his behavior, is absolutely splendid! This is a 12 year old (age verified by a veterinarian) pretty appaloosa gelding that stands 15.1-2h tall and is super classy looking! He has a great handle on him and a willing attitude. He is gentle for just about any rider, and big enough to suit just about any rider, regardless of their height. He has a really cool look to him and rides around great outside or in the arena. Larry has been ridden in the Pendleton Roundup Parade, & even made his way into the rodeo for the grand entry, in full traditional native regalia!! When the roundup is over he heads for the Mts. for hunting season, where he has serves as a pack horse, as well as a guide’s horse. Larry’s been on multiple elk hunting excursions into the Blue Mts. & packed elk out in over a foot of snow himself. He will get right in line, he gets along with every horse in the string, and as you can imagine he leads very well, & does not intimidate your riding horse. Larry can be head & tailed, hobbled, & hi-lined as well. We have also put Larry in the “dude” horse string too, where he has packed very novice & inexperienced riders on trail rides throughout central Oregon. He most recently visited Smith Rock here just a couple weeks ago, he’s been having lots of fun this summer!! He will cross water, bridges, you name it he will cross anything you can get him across, (In other words he’s easy to persuade). Larry however is not a dead head… he will travel, you do not have to kick him for every step. This guy has a go anywhere attitude out on the trail, easy to saddle, catch, haul and load! Larry is just an awesome gelding, with a great handle, cool look, and the most pleasant willing attitude no matter what your trying to do to, or with him!! Literally his ears don’t go backwards!
