Bo is an 11 year old, approx. 16.3hh Shire Horse. Not registered, but can be. I will send his registration application papers. He had to be somewhat re-started as he was unhandled for several years before I got him. He has been a great guy to train! He catches on easily to new things and is completely ridable. I would not advise for beginners due to his size and he is more forward moving. I ride trails alone and he is not buddy or barn sour. He has been ridden in fields and on ditch banks and some arena riding. Spent one month with a trainer last January. He will stand tied quiet, loads in the trailer, bathes, and is decent with the farrier. He is not dangerous, does not kick or buck. He can just get impatient with the farrier but we still get his feet trimmed regularly and he gets better every time. He is barefoot with nice solid feet. The more he trusts his person, the easier he is to work with and handle, as draft owners will know! He has great ground manners, will occasionally throw an attitude when going out with the halter, but it has never taken me more than about 2 minutes for him to give up and let me put the halter on. Consistency really helps with this. We have a small herd of highland cows that he has been around and has no problems. He lives with 2 other geldings and is about in the middle of the pecking order. He had a pre purchase exam done in May with bloodwork and everything came back perfect. Very sound and healthy boy! Easy keeper. I think he would excel with further training in any discipline or just keep riding him on the trails! terrynfrazier@gmail.com
