We purchased Peyote at the February sale, unfortunately, the story she came with wasn’t accurate. (At the February sale she was Lot #49 "Betty") Here is what we know: The vet ages her at about 12 years old. She stands a hair under 14 hands, is sweet, kind, gentle and a total gem, with exceptional ground manners BUT she is a bucker. We have been in contact with her previous trainer that confirmed this was an issue with her. Because of this we don't recommend her as a riding horse unless you are willing and experienced enough to take on a project. In the time we have had Peyote we have tried her out in as many situations as possible. We have found that you can do literally ANYTHING to this mare from the ground and nothing phases her. You can touch her anywhere, pick up all her feet with no issues, she goes right in the trailer, stands tied, ground drives, bathes well, and you can pony her from another horse. We have exposed her to cows, dogs & other animals, nothing bothered her. She Goes anywhere and does anything asked of her other than she doesn't want to be ridden. We have not been able to find any soundness issues with her. Because of all this, we think her calling in life might just be a pack horse as she is the perfect size and build for it. She would also make a nice broodmare or Recip mare and we believe she is gentle, kind and respectful enough to be a therapy horse if used from the ground. Feed trimmed, Vaccinated with 5 way and Dewormed with Ivormectin in February. She had a two week quarantine after the February sale and she is coming from a clean facility. .
